Brief description of the business and what services you offer to schools
Wellspring Academy Trust operates 28 academies across the North of England and provides education to over 5000 children and young people across 40 educational sites. The provision is expertly delivered through a workforce of 2000 employees and across primary, secondary, alternative and special academies; in addition to adult social care and several outreach services.
As the Trust CIO, Jonny Wathen is the Executive Leader responsible for a portfolio of Digital, Performance and Commercial services.
The Trust has placed a Digital Strategy at the heart of their strategic plan (Vision 2025) as a key enabler of this ambition. The strategy comprises of, effective and scalable infrastructure, security and privacy by design, alongside edtech innovations and business intelligence.
As a rapidly growing organisation, Wellspring has inherited a range of legacy solutions each with their own merits and limitations. In line with our Digital Strategy, the requirement to deliver safe and effective remote education alongside enabling a hybrid working for staff has been a key priority.
Why did you choose Securly?
Wellspring required a solution that provided greater oversight of its 1:1 device strategy whilst ensuring teachers, parents and pupils were kept safe. This requirement extended beyond the provision in-school and we needed a solution that would support and enable learning anytime, anywhere.
Would you recommend Securly?
Wellspring would highly recommend Securly as a cost-effective solution for schools and Multi-Academy Trusts.
